And you think your life stinks?

OR -- When the metaphore becomes literal.

OR -- You're not really dumping that here, are you?

OR -- Into everyone's life a little poo must fall.

This morning started off as one of those "dumped on" days. You know the kind: nothing seems to be going right, life is throwing frustrations at you right and left.... basically, the world drops all of it's poo on your head at once.

What poo on my head, you ask? Well, job stress... or losing job stress. I still don't have "official" word on it. School stress... I've GOT to get out of school! I've had a cold for what seems forever. Basically it's just normal life stress compounded by the fact that my 37th birthday is in two weeks and I'm contemplating life and what I've got to show for my life and what I've done with my life or haven't done and where I thought I'd be in my life by now that I'm not ..... you know, just the normal middle aged stuff. (I guess I am really middle aged since the US Census includs the category as 35- 44 -- ugh.) If I were rich and could afford a mid-life crisis, I'd have one. Unfortunately, I'm not.

So, I come to work this morning a bit down. Start doing my daily work stuff and look up to see a big truck backing into the space in front of my office door. It is hauling what looks to be "natural fertilizer." (Um, yes, that would be natural cow poo fertilizer... ) The truck drove by a couple of times then literally backed within 6 feet of my office door and stopped. Curiosity got the better of me, so I went out to see just what was going on! It's the landscapers for the office complex are here today and since my office is "centrally located" we get the honor of having the mulch/fertilizer dumped right in front of our office. Since it can't be in the fire lane or the hadicapped spot, it is RIGHT in front of my office door.

To be honest, I couldn't help but laugh because as I sat here, I watched my metaphorical poo dumping become literal. I guess, metaphorically and literally speaking, you've got to spread the poo before the flowers can grow.

Made me smile. Oh, and by the way, I don't think any of us were are where we thought we would be when we were -- say 18. Some things for me are better than I expected, are not quite up to snuff, and for some things I'm glad they didn't turn out like I had planned. :)

That is just way too funny! I know that your day had been stressful but I think God just made you smile alittle with the poo.

At least the poo didn't hit the fan. :D

And I'm less than thrilled with getting closer to have to mark that next box on all those forms.

Okay, wait!!! If 35-44 is middle aged, then what is next? Because I am 44, and just got resigned to the idea that I am middle aged, and now I find out that I am practically past it!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Talk about spreading some poo, Donna! =:0

(just kidding! And this is a very funny post! I hope all your stressors resolve themselves very soon!)

Don't worry, Julie, the US Census has 2 middle aged sections, 35-44 and 45-54.... you're just going into the second half of middle age!

Hey I just read your post to Julie-- does that mean that I'm OLD??? because I don't feel OLD, and I don't think I look OLD and I think I'll be indignant! Why do we listen to the government --- or why don't I go to work for the government and *change* things. That seems to be the battle cry right now --- I'll change things --no one is middle aged and no one is OLD. Done!!!
