Day 5: Today is the first day of...

Well, it's going to be an interesting few years.

I can hope that his socialist bent can and will be tempered by conservative values.

I can hope that he is what the country truly needs.

I have to trust that God is in control and remind myself of that often.

I will pray for him, just as I have prayed for Bush and for Clinton and for each President before them.

I agree with you. I actually am concerned about his, and his family's, safety and I think they can use all the prayers we can give them. :-)

I am hopeful. But like Stephanie, I am also concerned for his family and safety.

My teenage daughter and I had an interesting conversation a little while ago. She had participated in some heated debates last night (via internet) with young Obama supporters, many of them newly eighteen and new voters. She was disgusted with the fact that most of them had no idea what Obama believed or stood for, but were merely parroting the "Change" and "historic election" buzz words. She was even told that anyone who voted for McCain was a racist because this was the opportunity to make history with our first black president. She replied that if anyone voted for or against someone MERELY because of skin color, that was racism either way.

I hope that everyone who cast votes in this election actually knew what they were voting for and didn't just vote based on media bias and celebrity endorsements. Somehow I doubt it.

I agree, much prayer is needed. God is still on His throne and appoints those over us, but sometimes it's not always pleasant. And I have a sense of dread about this one, of which I hope I am proved wrong.

That is right. Everything is God's. I am torn between thinking that this is just like when God gave the people a king because that's what they wanted (regardless of the fact that it ended up being a bad situation) AND that this is completely and totally God's will and just another precursor to the end time.

Either way - God let it happen and all we can do is pray for our nation, our president, and ourselves...

Not get too preachy on your own blog? Really?! I thought this was the place to do that. The Bible is clear when it tells us to go unto every nation and preach the Gospel. It is one thing to be a condemning zealot. It is another thing to follow the Bible. :) :)

I like your blog, too, and I will be following you... ;)

Oh, I will gladly speak of my faith and my beliefs, I just don't like to preach at people.
